Zoe is an Indigenous Mexican and Ventureño Chumash artist whose work spans painting, photography, digital art, mixed media, and writing. Rooted in their recovery journey, which began in 2015, their creative practice transforms personal healing, ancestry, and identity into powerful expressions of resilience. Guided by mindfulness, intuition, and ancestral traditions, they channel lived experience into artwork that reclaims narratives once suppressed by spiritual and familial harm.
After a 20-year marriage and years devoted to raising a family, Zoe now nurtures their artistic and literary voice with renewed clarity, often incorporating recycled materials to honor the beauty that can emerge from what is broken or overlooked. As a queer person of color who embraces they/them pronouns, their work uplifts authenticity and empowerment.
Zoe is also a certified Life and Recovery Coach and Certified Peer Support Specialist, supporting others in navigating sobriety, creativity, and self-discovery. Their creative practice offers connection, restoration, and an invitation to heal through art.
