$50.00

The work shown here was created during the pandemic and my divorce. As I stood in the kitchen cooking, memories of the past two decades spent in the house flooded my mind. The emotions tied to the memories made in the kitchen overwhelmed me.

One day, with leftover spaghetti and flowers in a nearby vase, I stepped into my studio and began capturing photos of the flowers and spaghetti. Tears flowed. Emotions surfaced. Tears continued. Reflecting on abundance and wastage, I pondered the hunger that exists.

I aimed to capture the beauty of the flower and the satisfaction food offers, highlighting the comfort we find in flowers and meals. For the next couple of years, I continued photographing random food items as I navigated through the emotions and pain associated with my divorce.

Breath In by Yehezekel Raz , was playing while I was thinking of a name for this photo.
